A OpenText Analytics Case Study
The United States Navy's Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) faced a significant challenge in maintaining the operational readiness of its complex fleet of ships and submarines. Information was trapped in dozens of siloed repositories, making it difficult for technicians to efficiently access the critical technical data needed for maintenance and repairs, which put crew safety and mission success at risk. To address this, NAVSEA worked with OpenText and its partners to implement OpenText Content Management for Engineering.
The OpenText solution connected these disparate data sources, providing engineers with unified, secure access to the right information. This ensured assets were mission-ready and unlocked new AI capabilities with OpenText Knowledge Discovery and OpenText Content Aviator for predictive maintenance and improved operational efficiency. The implementation by OpenText and its partners significantly enhanced the Navy's ability to service its fleet, with one proof of concept saving nearly a terabyte of storage through improved data de-duplication.
