A OpenText Analytics Case Study
The American Suzuki Motor Corporation’s Powersports division — part of global Suzuki Motor Corporation — faced fragmented reporting across its dealer network, field representatives and corporate staff. Dealers and regional managers had no consolidated view of floor plans, inventory, sales and financials, and the existing Access-based infrastructure could not support the centralized, web-based reporting needed to drive better inventory mix, profitability and enterprise-level analysis.
Suzuki implemented Actuate Enterprise Reporting (web-based, open architecture, flexible reporting and query tools) to deliver inventory management, financial analysis and dealer-ranking reports to field reps, regional managers, credit analysts and executives. The solution improved visibility into inventory and profitability, reduced over- and under-stocking and interest costs, enabled targeted inventory shifts and better floor‑plan risk management, helped dealerships pursue a 22% gross profit target, and strengthened Suzuki’s competitive position with plans to expand Actuate usage.
