Prudential expands its file conversion capabilities using technology from Xenos Group

Prudential plc, a FTSE 100 financial services group, and its IT delivery unit PGDS faced slow, costly document proofing and archive processes: proofing Xerox-formatted outputs could take hours or days due to slow test prints, and COMfiche creation relied on weekly offsite tape transfers that could take up to ten days and led to mis-filings and poor searchability.

Prudential expanded its long-standing use of Xenos d2e transformation technology—adding processing power rather than replacing software—to convert mainframe and Unisys print streams to PDF and handle increased volumes. The change cut testing cycles from hours or days to minutes, eliminated physical tape transport for COMfiche with near–next-day turnaround, improved search and access, and today the platform processes about 30,000 documents a month with half available for online viewing.
