Defense Acquisition University (DAU) is the Department of Defense’s corporate university that trains military and civilian acquisition personnel across five regional centers. Although DAU had an Annual Performance Plan with strategic goals, it lacked a systematic, enterprise-wide way to measure and manage performance across regions and leadership, making it difficult to align activities to the strategic plan and get timely, accountable data.

DAU selected Actuate Performancesoft Views (QuickView) to automate its performance-management framework, define SMART measures, assign accountability, and train regional users. Within two months measures were created and populated, a full roll-out followed, and DAU gained a centralized, consolidated process that improved data-driven decision making, alignment to strategy, and timely performance communication across the organization.
