Close Wealth Management, part of Close Brothers Group PLC in London, provides wealth management services to individuals, trusts, pension funds and charities. The firm struggled with a slow, error-prone process for producing customized quarterly investment reports and needed a secure, web-delivered reporting system that would let clients and fund managers access tailored account information online.

In November 1999 Close Wealth implemented Actuate Enterprise Reporting (e.Reports) to pull data from its Sybase database, generate a single configurable report with page-level security per client, and publish HTML views with PDF download and scheduling options. The change automated report production, cut time and manpower dramatically, eliminated manual errors, and gave customers and fund managers secure, on-demand access to clear, graphical reports.
