A OpenText Analytics Case Study
Threadneedle Investments, part of Zurich Financial Services, faced a major reporting challenge: its OEIC product line created uneven peaks in demand and the firm needed to produce around 600,000 statements for 170,000 clients and advisers each year. The existing mainframe print package was inflexible and not scalable enough to handle volume, variable content requirements and multi-source data feeds from AS400, MVS and Siebel.
Deploying Actuate on a dedicated 3‑processor NT server allowed Threadneedle to generate high-quality, flexibly tailored statements at scale — producing images at about 12 per second and over 1.5 million images per run while handling 6 GB of print files. The solution added multi-language output, barcode-driven autostuffing and improved appearance and accuracy, delivering faster, more cost-effective reporting, positive client/IFA feedback and a clear path to web- and XML-based delivery.
