Fast and effective incentive compensation management for Telco

Vodacom, a leading African telecommunications company, needed to replace a mix of bespoke systems and spreadsheets for managing dealer and enterprise sales commissions. This created compliance and auditability issues, limited visibility for payees, and made it harder to motivate sellers in a highly competitive Telco market. Vodacom turned to OpenSymmetry and CallidusCloud (now SAP Sales Cloud) for help with its incentive compensation management (ICM) process.

OpenSymmetry resolved the implementation challenges and delivered an automated ICM solution that centralized commission processing, reporting, and auditability across multiple business units. The result was a major reduction in processing time—from over 36 hours to about 18 hours initially, and later to just one hour—while supporting more than 12 million transactions per month and 8,000 payees. OpenSymmetry also helped Vodacom improve accuracy, efficiency, and dealer satisfaction through a single, cloud-ready system.
