A OpenSymmetry Case Study

Preview of the Abbott Case Study

Abbott - Customer Case Study

Abbott, the healthcare and life sciences company formerly known as St. Jude Medical, was looking to get more value from its sales performance management (SPM) investment. The company faced time-consuming manual processes, redundant work, and confusing compensation contracts, and turned to OpenSymmetry’s OS EDGE Managed Services team to help move toward a more accurate, reliable, and self-sufficient SPM program.

OpenSymmetry used its 5 Cs approach to assess Abbott’s compensation environment and recommend prioritized improvements, including automated nightly pipeline runs, better data validation, stronger analytics, and optimized reporting. The results included about $120,000 in annual savings from automating calculations, $1,200 to $1,400 in monthly savings from improved data validation, and another $800 to $1,000 per month from replacing vendor reporting, while also enabling Abbott’s compensation team to become self-sufficient and more informed through better internal and industry data.
