Leading India e-commerce site launches OpenStack hybrid cloud

Snapdeal, India’s largest online marketplace, needed a more cost-effective, reliable infrastructure to handle surging traffic from millions of shoppers across the country. The company turned to OpenStack to power its new hybrid cloud platform, Snapdeal Cirrus, as public clouds were becoming too expensive at scale.

OpenStack helped Snapdeal build and launch Cirrus across three data center regions with 100,000 cores, 16 petabytes of storage, and 100G SDN infrastructure in under a year. The result was a resilient, scalable, and secure platform expected to deliver major cost savings and significant performance gains, while improving speed, stability, and the customer experience.
