How the French government uses OpenStack

France’s Interior Ministry turned to OpenStack to build a secure, efficient cloud platform for its digital modernization efforts. The challenge was to support major public services like processing asylum requests and speeding up driver’s license testing while meeting strict national security standards.

OpenStack, implemented with help from Osones, was used to create production applications including ASILE and ET GOA and to support a broader cloud migration roadmap. France’s Interior Ministry says OpenStack has enabled agile and DevOps development, continuous delivery and integration, and a more robust platform; it also plans to migrate 150 applications over the next three to five years.
