intec, part of the GOPA Consulting Group and a leading energy consulting firm, faced a challenge in monitoring the progress of vast, remote solar panel installation projects. With sites spanning up to 120,000 square meters and on-site visits only happening every three to six months, their photo documentation for progress reports was infrequent and outdated. The vendor OpenSpace provided its reality capture solution, OpenSpace Capture. intec implemented a process of taking weekly 360-degree photos at specific points, which provided a near-live view of the construction site. This allowed for prompt issue identification and remote site management. The result was a 12x increase in the frequency of site captures, from every 3-6 months to once a week, improving transparency for clients and making site visits more effective. OpenSpace is now used on over ten of the company's global projects.
