Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona (GISA) faced high turnover in entry-level retail roles, along with a need to make training feel like a career-building opportunity rather than a requirement. To support a diverse workforce with different education levels and experience, GISA partnered with OpenSesame to deliver accessible, relevant learning content and structured development paths.
OpenSesame helped GISA build more than 50 tailored programs, including leadership academies, budgeting courses, soft-skills training, and safety refreshers. The results included over 10,000 course completions in FY24, 176 promotions, and 70% of leadership academy graduates advancing within 18 months. GISA also saved 5–10 hours per week by using OpenSesame content instead of creating everything in-house.
