Case Study: USA FTSE 500 Health Insurance Provider reduces real estate costs with OpenSensors

A OpenSensors Case Study

Preview of the USA FTSE 500 Health Insurance Providing Company Case Study

Minimising building and real estate costs through efficiency

OpenSensors helped a USA FTSE 500 Health Insurance Providing Company address a workplace space-efficiency challenge. The customer’s Corporate Real Estate team was hearing complaints about a lack of space for mobile workers, but swipe-card data only showed overall entry rates and could not reveal how desks, meeting rooms, or other assets were actually being used.

OpenSensors deployed sensors across shared desks and meeting rooms across five floors, using LoRaWAN-connected hardware to provide real-time utilisation and occupancy data, with plans to expand to two additional floors. The solution gave the CRE team objective metrics to identify underused space, support conversations about right-sizing and workstyle changes, reduce abandoned meeting-room bookings, and build business cases for portfolio compression and cost savings.
