TeleData, a regional internet service provider based in Germany, required a mature and proven infrastructure-as-a-service platform to rebuild its infrastructure from scratch and support its wide range of telecommunications and cloud services. After testing various cloud stacks, the company selected OpenNebula from OpenNebula Systems for its lack of unnecessary complexity and overhead.

OpenNebula Systems' solution was implemented on HP servers with Cisco networking and NetApp storage, requiring only minimal modifications for optimal performance and reliability. The OpenNebula platform became the central computing platform for TeleData, supporting thousands of customers and services like email, DNS, and web hosting. The successful integration has led to plans for a major storage overhaul to implement Ceph object storage.
