OpenLegacy exposes SAP backend applications for use in new digital channels

Indian Manufacturing Company, a multibillion-dollar Indian conglomerate, needed to accelerate digital transformation by modernizing its SAP back end and exposing legacy processes for web, mobile, and cloud use. Its on-prem SAP systems were difficult to integrate with cloud-based enterprise applications, and a team of 100 was still taking weeks to deliver a single exposed business process.

OpenLegacy partnered with Indian Manufacturing Company on a pilot to open up SAP Human Capital Management. OpenLegacy generated Java APIs from SAP BAPIs and exposed them as microservices, quickly creating responsive HTML5 web and mobile applications and streamlining workflows. The result was major speed gains: APIs and apps that once took weeks could be delivered in minutes, a purchase order approval project was projected to take a month instead of a year, and in-house developers were trained in just a few days.
