Ayalon Insurance, one of Israel's largest insurance companies, faced the challenge of modernizing its heavily customized AS/400 legacy system to meet demands for speed and digital accessibility. OpenLegacy implemented a solution built on a DevOps and continuous integration/deployment environment on IBM Cloud Private. They developed over 100 APIs to connect the legacy system to new digital services, including online policy underwriting and credit card processing. The results were transformative: OpenLegacy helped shorten new policy entry from four months to five minutes, improved data processing speeds by 100x, and saved an estimated one year of developer man-hours, enabling near real-time customer service.
