Case Study: Indian Manufacturing Firm achieves real-time error tracking and improved performance with OpenLegacy

A OpenLegacy Case Study

Preview of the Indian Manufacturing Firm Case Study

Leading Indian manufacturer improves performance with real-time error tracking

The Indian Manufacturing Firm, a major steel manufacturer with multiple plants and dozens of sensor-equipped machines, needed better error reporting and handling across its proprietary shop-floor systems. Its data flowed from machine databases to central Oracle databases and into SAP, but closed protocols meant errors could go unnoticed for long periods, causing waste and financial losses. OpenLegacy provided the integration platform used in the project.

OpenLegacy automatically generated microservice-based APIs to connect the machines, Oracle databases, and SAP ECC Quality Control module, while giving developers standard Java code to customize exception handling. The result was real-time error detection, improved performance, faster implementation, and cost savings, with OpenLegacy supporting timely authenticated data flow at an SLA of 300 records per second and reducing the need for external resources or proprietary training.
