Case Study: JSW achieves real-time factory error detection with OpenLegacy

A OpenLegacy Case Study

Preview of the JSW Case Study

JSW tracked and caught errors across multiple factory floors in real-time

JSW, a multi-billion dollar company in India's steel, energy, and infrastructure sectors, faced a significant challenge with real-time error detection across its manufacturing plants. Their myriad of machines, each with proprietary data protocols, sent sensor data to a central Oracle database but lacked a standard way to report errors. This led to costly, undetected issues, such as producing metal with incorrect dimensions. They turned to OpenLegacy for a solution.

OpenLegacy provided its platform to generate microservice-based APIs that integrated the on-premise machines with IoT sensors, the central Oracle database, and the SAP Quality Control module. This enabled real-time error detection and handling, drastically reducing waste and leading to substantial cost savings. The solution, built on standard Java, also allowed JSW to utilize its internal development teams effectively, handling an SLA of 300 records per second and achieving faster implementation.
