A OpenLegacy Case Study
Bank Hapoalim, a major commercial bank, faced significant challenges in modernizing its IT infrastructure. The bank needed to efficiently access its IBM mainframe to create microservices and APIs, but was hindered by a complex and heavily customized ESB layer that made upgrades impossible. Their goal was to build a modern architecture on the OpenShift platform to respond more quickly to business requirements.
OpenLegacy provided the solution with its IBM CICS adapter and API Factory model, which automated the generation of microservice-based APIs directly from the mainframe. This approach bypassed the legacy middleware entirely. The results were dramatic: a single developer could now create five microservices in just two weeks, a 30x acceleration in delivery. This led to increased responsiveness, lower maintenance costs, and a seamless integration into their DevOps process.
