A OpenLearning Case Study
The University of New England (UNE) faced the challenge of engaging prospective students from remote and regional areas who had received early offers for undergraduate studies. These students often face significant barriers to tertiary education, and UNE needed a way to increase conversion rates from offers to actual enrollment while preparing students for academic success. They partnered with the vendor OpenLearning to address this.
OpenLearning developed the Boosting Science Pathways program on its platform, a course designed to build scientific skills and foster a supportive social network among future students. This solution more than doubled UNE's conversion rate from offer to commencement, achieving 103% year-over-year growth. The program also generated over 300 comments and interactions, demonstrating high engagement and helping to build a strong learning community before students arrived on campus.
