The South African College of Applied Psychology - Customer Case Study

The South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP) sought to expand internationally, specifically into Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Their challenge was entering a new market with little brand recognition and a need to understand local requirements, all while operating during a global pandemic. To achieve this, they partnered with the vendor OpenLearning to develop and deliver a suite of micro-credential courses using the OpenCreds framework.

OpenLearning provided the platform and support to help SACAP Global quickly design, develop, and launch six MQA-aligned micro-credentials. This solution enabled a low-risk digital market entry. The results included the successful launch of 12 online short courses within a year, with each micro-credential taking just three months to develop on average. This established SACAP's brand in the new region and created a pathway for learners to stack credentials toward a full degree.
