A OpenLearning Case Study
The Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC), a provider of Smart Factory training, needed to shift from in-person to online programs to create a more sustainable business model. This challenge was heightened by the COVID-19 pandemic, which required a swift pivot to a remote training solution that could effectively deliver highly technical, hands-on content and overcome industry skepticism. SHRDC partnered with OpenLearning to find a platform that would allow them to successfully make this digital transition.
OpenLearning provided the platform for SHRDC's unique hybrid training model, which combined theoretical modules and facilitation on OpenLearning with practical exercises in a remote lab. This solution enabled SHRDC to train 101 participants from 31 organizations, delivering 650 cumulative remote training hours. The program achieved a 100% satisfaction rate and proved so successful that SHRDC is now using OpenLearning as a core part of its strategy to develop future micro-credential courses.
