RELEX removes the limits on its big data ambitions with OpenIO Object Storage

RELEX Solutions, a retail optimization software company, processes massive volumes of time-sensitive data to forecast demand and generate replenishment plans for major retailers. As its business grew, RELEX needed a way to scale beyond single-server, single-tenant deployments while maintaining the high performance of its in-memory platform, improving reliability, and minimizing vendor lock-in.

RELEX implemented OpenIO Object Storage as the core of its distributed storage architecture, using it to store and replicate transaction files across four data centers and connect systems via the S3 API. With OpenIO, RELEX built a private cloud capable of supporting up to 5 PB of operational data, gaining more speed, capacity, and resilience as new storage nodes are added, while also improving backup and failover readiness.
