Bell, Canada’s largest communications company, wanted to improve its speed of response to new market opportunities and prepare for the many new use cases expected from 5G. To support this, Bell had been working with Openet charging for more than five years and was looking for a more agile BSS approach, using Openet’s evolved charging capabilities and digital enablement framework.

Openet and Bell implemented a microservices- and DevOps-based approach using Openet’s Forge Digital Enablement Framework, with both teams working as trusted co-development partners on short sprint cycles. This helped Bell move beyond traditional vendor roadmaps and release dates, enabling faster innovation for 4G and 5G services. The collaboration also supported strong business results, including 2017 mobile subscriber growth of 8.2%, mobile EBITDA growth of 9.1%, and mobile revenue growth of 10%.
