eir, Ireland’s principal provider of mobile, fixed-line, broadband, and IPTV services, needed a way to offer more flexible mobile data pricing and promotions in a highly competitive, price-driven market. The company wanted to create attractive offers that could encourage greater spending, more frequent prepaid credit purchases, and stronger customer engagement. Openet’s Evolved Charging and Policy products helped address these needs.

Openet implemented Policy Manager and Evolved Charging to support zero-rating of selected services, real-time upsell offers, advanced pricing plans, subscription options, day passes, and unified postpaid/prepaid charging. The solution enabled eir to launch innovative offers such as “More than you can eat data,” helping grow mobile revenues and subscribers. Openet’s technology also contributed to measurable gains, including 81% year-on-year mobile data traffic growth, a 4% increase in blended ARPU, and a 0.5% reduction in prepay churn.
