Case Study: Dave Grohl achieves seamless remote documentary editing with OpenDrives Anywhere

Dave Grohl enables seamless remote 4K editing with OpenDrives

The customer, Dave Grohl, faced a challenge when the COVID-19 pandemic halted the post-production of his "What Drives Us" documentary. His team needed a high-performance remote workflow to edit 4K RAW footage without the performance degradation typical of cloud-based solutions. They turned to vendor OpenDrives for a storage and remote collaboration solution.

OpenDrives implemented its OpenDrives Anywhere solution, which enabled a secure, remote connection to on-premise storage infrastructure. The result was seamless remote editing with no detectable performance hits, allowing the team to collaborate effectively from different locations. This solution from OpenDrives successfully powered the completion of the documentary under unprecedented conditions.
