Blue Ridge delivers a studio feature end-to-end with OpenDrives

The customer, Blue Ridge, faced the challenge of a complex and time-consuming film post-production workflow that relied on an offline process, creating delays and potential for error. They needed a shared storage solution that could support the capacity and performance required for a fully online, collaborative editorial and finishing process using DaVinci Resolve with native camera formats. OpenDrives partnered with them to address this challenge.

OpenDrives implemented a hybrid NVMe/HDD storage solution powered by its Atlas Core software. This enabled the Blue Ridge team to edit the film end-to-end in DaVinci Resolve with real-time playback of multiple concurrent streams of high-resolution footage. The solution allowed for a radically streamlined workflow, which was crucial for the studio to deliver its film during the COVID-19 pandemic. This resulted in significant time savings, increased efficiency, and a simplification of the entire post-production process.
