A OpenBravo Case Study
TriMet, Portland’s public transportation agency serving over 2 million people, needed a reliable, easy-to-use point-of-sale system for its Pioneer Square ticket office to sell tickets and passes, handle high transaction volumes, integrate with existing payment services, track inventory of high-value items, and reduce customer wait times.
In August 2007 TriMet implemented Openbravo POS (then Tina POS). The rapid rollout (five terminals) processed more than 100,000 transactions (~$4.5M, about 6% of fare revenue), delivered faster transaction times, improved inventory tracking and management visibility, reduced errors, and earned strong approval from IT and customer-service staff.
