Halsted, founded in 1897 and headquartered in Zimbabwe, is a leading supplier of building and plumbing materials with a central distribution centre and eleven branches. Facing the need to improve operational control and reporting across multiple locations and currencies, Halsted sought a modern, modular system that could handle a vast, heterogeneous product mix, support e‑commerce and a mobile workforce—selecting Openbravo with Syntegra Solutions as implementation partner for its fit and low total cost of ownership.
Openbravo delivered enterprise-wide visibility while allowing each branch to manage sales, procurement, warehousing and financials, including integration with fiscal devices, multi-currency transactions and terminal-level cash controls. The rollout enabled hundreds of daily orders, real-time consolidated sales data for better decision-making, tighter user permissions and cash management, and—with a second phase adding advanced warehouse and forecasting—optimized working capital, reduced inventory investment and increased sales by ensuring the right stock is in the right place at the right time.
