Questum E-Mobility Uses OpenBOM to Convert Medium Sizes Trucks From Diesel To Electric

The customer, Questum E-Mobility's division Atmovum, faced the challenge of managing the complex bills of materials for converting medium-duty trucks from diesel to electric. As their company grew, using Excel became a significant burden that could not scale. They needed a more robust manufacturing planning solution that was cost-effective and would integrate with their new cloud-CAD system, Onshape, without disrupting production.

OpenBOM provided the solution by enabling the easy import of their existing Excel BOMs to create a centralized item master and organized catalogs. This new structure allowed for much faster, more reliable BOM creation and the efficient reuse of major sub-assemblies. The tight integration with Onshape streamlined the design-to-BOM workflow. As a result, OpenBOM gave Questum E-Mobility a scalable process with improved traceability through revision control.
