The customer, Bumblebee AI (now known as BloomX), needed a scalable and affordable system to manage end-to-end product data for its agricultural field equipment. They found traditional PLM solutions like Teamcenter and Solidworks EPDM to be too costly and complex to implement for their growing operation, creating a challenge for managing design and manufacturing data efficiently. The solution automated their data flow from CAD to production, improving inventory management and purchasing processes. As a result, OpenBOM enabled them to deliver products faster, perform crucial cost analysis, and understand the impact of changes across their product line, all while fitting their cloud-based business strategy and budget.
