The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies - Customer Case Study

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) needed reliable, secure global communications to operate in adverse physical environments with limited local technical expertise and constrained budgets. To address continuous monitoring, rapid response and modern application requirements, IFRC engaged Open Systems and adopted Open Systems Managed SASE (with MPLS and internet connectivity) supported by the Mission Control NOC for 24x7 support.

Open Systems implemented a centralized Geneva infrastructure and Security Gateways that combine SD-WAN, Firewall, SWG, CASB and ZTNA, with dual links (MPLS + local internet) for high availability and seamless failover. As a result, IFRC met its operational and security requirements while controlling costs, standardized equipment across seven centers, improved accessibility and user experience, and freed IT staff to focus on mission needs — all backed by Open Systems’ 24x7 managed service.
