Case Study: Sulzer achieves cloud-first transformation and significant cost savings with Open Systems

A Open Systems Case Study

Preview of the Sulzer Case Study

Sulzer - Customer Case Study

Sulzer, the Swiss industrial group focused on pumping and rotating-equipment services, set a Cloud First goal to consolidate roughly 3,200 global servers and migrate to a hybrid cloud without losing control over security, compliance and operations. To support that transition Sulzer engaged Open Systems to provide a single-source network, application and security stack with 24/7 operations and the Mission Control Portal for centralized monitoring and management.

Open Systems ran and monitored Sulzer’s global network across 187 locations, virtualized services for cloud compatibility, and delivered a standardized, rules‑based operating model with a single point of contact. As a result Sulzer completed its migration by the end of 2016, now runs ~80% on IaaS, ~5% SaaS and ~15% on‑prem, dismantled major data centers, improved agility for acquisitions and cut overall infrastructure costs by several million francs while maintaining consistent security and transparency.
