SOS Children’s Villages International - Customer Case Study

SOS Children’s Villages International, an independent NGO active in 134 countries, needed a strong digital backbone to support shared, standardized applications across its decentralized network of autonomous national organizations. To ensure secure, always-on access to systems like Office 365, fundraising and accounting apps, intranet and Skype for Business, SOS partnered with Open Systems to build and operate the SOS Data Highway.

Open Systems delivered an integrated managed service — connectivity, security and 24x7 operational support — with transparent auditing and a fixed annual service fee to run the Data Highway connecting 14 regional offices. The project was implemented quickly and on budget, has been operational for three years, and delivered high availability and stability, earlier detection of bottlenecks, predictable costs, and freed SOS Children’s Villages International’s internal IT team to focus on its core mission.
