A Open Loyalty Case Study

Preview of the The United States Soccer Federation (USSF) Case Study

U.S. Soccer launches a loyalty program to engage football fans

The United States Soccer Federation (USSF) struggled to maintain consistent fan engagement during seasonal gaps in the soccer calendar, causing app usage and associated revenue to drop. To foster year-round interaction and retention, they partnered with vendor Open Loyalty to create a unique loyalty program.

The solution was the multi-tiered Insiders Program built on the Open Loyalty platform, utilizing its API for deep customization and SSO integration. This omnichannel system rewards fans with points for various interactions, such as using the app and buying merchandise. The results were significant, with Open Loyalty helping USSF issue over 61 million points and attract more than 250,000 program members since its 2019 launch.
