Casper College boosts mobile learning with Open LMS as 50% of students download the app

Casper College, a junior college in Wyoming, faced significant challenges in providing equitable education due to the state's rural landscape and students' lack of reliable broadband access. Many of their adult learners, juggling jobs and family obligations, faced long commutes and lived in WiFi dead zones. To meet these students where they are, the college partnered with vendor Open LMS to implement a mobile learning solution.

Open LMS implemented its fully offline-capable mobile application, which allowed students to download and access all course content, including quizzes and assignments, without an internet connection. The app syncs data once a connection is reestablished. This solution had a measurable impact: since its launch, roughly 50% of Casper College's student body has downloaded the Open LMS app and uses it an average of 11 times per week, greatly enhancing accessibility and the student experience.
