Case Study: CEA IRFM develops a CATHARE pre- and post-processing interface with Open Cascade

Open Cascade worked with CEA IRFM, a research organization within the CEA, to address the challenge of building a pre- and post-processing user interface for CATHARE code. The goal was to make it easier for engineers to create, edit, launch, and analyze simulation input and results using a more accessible GUI.

Open Cascade implemented a SALOME-based LightApp application called GUITHARE, with dedicated controls for text and GUI input, 2D schematic views for 0D/1D objects, 3D visualization in VTK, solver launch capabilities, and post-processing tools for tables and plots. The solution was released as GUITHARE 1.0 in 2005 and GUITHARE 1.5 in 2009, supporting CATHARE versions V2.5, V2.5_1, and V2.5_2, and it was delivered with new CATHARE releases.
