Revenue Solutions, Inc. (RSI), a provider of tax-collection software for governments, sought to revolutionize the user experience of its complex GOVERNMENT PREMIER® suite, which was typically far behind consumer-facing products. They partnered with vendor Oomph to simplify this complexity without losing the product's power and high customizability, creating a more intuitive and user-focused system.

Oomph implemented a scalable, user-centered design system by establishing a consistent rulebook for design and leveraging Material UI. This solution consolidated the color palette, enforced design tokens, and utilized Figma and Storybook. The results included a WCAG 2.2 compliant interface, designs for 15 new features, and the establishment of an internal Design Manager role at RSI to maintain quality oversight as the product continues to evolve.
