A Onware Case Study
MacEwan University’s Centre for Arts and Culture (CFAC) was a large, three‑year, $181M construction program to consolidate programs into a new five‑storey, 430,000+ sq. ft. facility. Managing hundreds of workers and many stakeholders (Clark Builders as construction manager, architects Bing Thom and Manasc Isaac, and the owner MacEwan University) created a major documentation and coordination challenge, so Clark Builders chose Onware’s document collaboration/management platform to centralize project information.
Onware was implemented as the central database for all trades, subcontractors, consultants and the owner, enabling real‑time collaboration and version control. Using Onware Clark Builders stored and tracked over 27,000 documents and attachments for the CFAC project, helping keep communication streamlined and the project on schedule for its Fall 2017 opening; the system’s prior success on the Clareview project informed the decision to deploy Onware again.
