GEA, a major provider of process technology, faced the challenge of managing its supply chain with time-consuming, manual processes for order confirmations and a lack of digital integration across its multiple SAP systems. The company sought an intelligent e-procurement solution from Onventis to create a central, digital channel for its suppliers and to streamline procurement for both direct and indirect materials.

The solution implemented by Onventis included its Order Management and Sourcing modules, which digitally linked GEA’s supply chain. This provided a central portal for suppliers, automated order confirmations, and introduced system-supported approval workflows. The Onventis platform also enabled centrally-bundled content across GEA’s multi-ERP environment. The results included consistent digital processes and over one billion euros in order volume processed through the platform by 2019, with 900 active users and 3,000 active suppliers.
