KT Corporation Improved Content Discovery by Better Matching Viewers’ Preferences

KT Corporation, the South Korean telecom provider behind Megapass IPTV and VOD services, needed a smarter way to help viewers find relevant content among more than 70,000 videos. Its existing search surfaced less than 10% of available content, so KT wanted better metadata enrichment, multi-genre classification, and search that could match users’ preferences more accurately.

Using Ontotext’s semantic search technology and GraphDB as the RDF database and reasoning engine, KT implemented features like query completion, semantic query expansion, natural-language analysis, and ranking based on user intent and profiles. With Ontotext, KT improved content discovery, increased service efficiency, and delivered a better user experience by helping customers find more of the content they wanted more easily.
