Make-A-Wish faced a growing gap between the number of wish requests and its ability to grant them; the global nonprofit needed a clear, accountable strategy to accelerate growth and focus resources. Make-A-Wish partnered with OnStrategy for strategic planning and implementation services — including executive interviews, a chapter insight survey, and onsite facilitation — to build a nationwide plan that would align chapters, boards, volunteers, and donors around a single vision: granting wishes to every eligible child.
OnStrategy delivered a 3-year roadmap, an annual corporate plan with metrics and targets, a corporate scorecard to automate KPI reporting, a two-page public communication document, and a 2-day planning session plus chapter coaching. As a result of OnStrategy’s work, Make-A-Wish increased its capacity and ability to grant more wishes in the first year, achieved organization-wide alignment and commitment, and implemented structured reporting so leaders and chapters clearly know their performance targets and responsibilities.
