Modernizing Crisis Management and Emergency Notification with OnSolve® CodeRED®

Scioto County, a primarily rural county in southern Ohio, needed a modern mass notification system to quickly reach residents across varied terrain with limited staff and budget. The county selected OnSolve’s CodeRED to provide an intuitive user experience, easy enrollment, IPAWS capability, geo-targeted alerts and automated weather warnings.

OnSolve implemented CodeRED integrated with the county 911 database so about 60,000 people began receiving alerts without re-registering, automated National Weather Service warnings, and streamlined IPAWS testing and use. The solution enabled precise, timely notifications that averted countywide panic during an inmate escape, redirected commuters during a hazmat-related road closure, boosted public enrollment and trust, and reduced manual workload for emergency management staff.
