Chickasaw Emergency Manager Keeps County Residents Informed of Potential Threats with OnSolve CodeRED

Chickasaw County, Mississippi, a rural county of about 17,000 people, needed a fast, dependable, and affordable way to alert residents about imminent threats like tornadoes, ice storms, and other local emergencies. County Emergency Management Director Linda Griffin implemented OnSolve’s CodeRED critical communications product to provide targeted emergency notifications.

OnSolve’s CodeRED enabled the county to send geo-targeted alerts via phone, text, mobile app, and TTY, used for weather warnings, industrial fires, missing-persons searches, Amber alerts, and planned outages. The system gives five authorized users the ability to launch notifications, helped residents take protective actions and reduced reliance on radio reports, and — per Griffin — improved situational control and trust with rapid, clear messaging from OnSolve.
