Belfius, the Brussels‑headquartered bank‑insurer and the region’s second largest, needed to protect staff and maintain business continuity as COVID‑19 spread in early 2020. After learning employees had traveled to outbreak areas, the bank had to quickly identify and instruct anyone who had been away more than three consecutive days to self‑quarantine for seven days. To do this rapidly and in local languages Belfius deployed the OnSolve Critical Communications system.

Using OnSolve, Belfius sent translated SMS alerts to 1,357 targeted employees, tracked replies, and reissued follow‑ups to non‑responders; switching to a Belgian short code improved recognition and response. The campaign achieved an 81.2% response rate, one in five recipients agreed to voluntary quarantine, 220 non‑responders were denied building access, more than 8,000 staff were reached for ongoing pandemic communications, and 98% of employees were able to work remotely during the lockdown — outcomes Belfius credits to OnSolve.
