XING Mobility Empowers the Mining, Construction and Agriculture Industries to Go Electric

XING Mobility, a Taipei-based developer of modular electric battery systems and powertrains for commercial and industrial vehicles, faced a growing design challenge: engineering thousands of customized battery shapes and sizes each year while multiple teams struggled with version control and repetitive modeling tasks. The complexity of bespoke, often non-rectangular packs made archives, record-keeping and iterative design slow and error-prone, costing engineers significant administrative time.

XING adopted Onshape’s cloud-native data management and used its open-source FeatureScript to build an Automatic Pack Builder that automatically stacks modules within a defined volume. The tool cut pack modeling from up to an hour to under a minute, saved about 400 engineering hours in 2020, and eliminated prior version-control and file-management bottlenecks that had consumed roughly 50% of design time.
