A OnPage Case Study
Alberta Health Services (AHS), Canada’s largest provincewide health system caring for 4+ million residents and 100,000+ employees, faced inconsistent and costly workflows for blood body fluid exposure (BBFE) reporting across its five zones. Different local policies led to uneven response quality, heavy call-center expenses, unnecessary emergency-room visits, and difficulty getting nurses in touch with staff—so AHS selected OnPage to standardize and reliably route occupational health communications using OnPage’s incident alert and dedicated callback number service.
OnPage implemented a centralized workflow that eliminated call centers: employees call an OnPage number, leave a callback/voicemail, and the system routes messages to the right on-call occupational health nurse who performs a rapid risk assessment and calls back nearly immediately. The OnPage solution standardized service delivery across zones, added reporting and peak-call visibility, routed voicemails by schedule, and cut costs by 75% compared with legacy processes.
