ONLYOFFICE makes seamless online collaboration a reality in the University of French Polynesia

The University of French Polynesia (UPF), a public higher education and research institution in Tahiti, needed a secure way to support online collaboration across a geographically dispersed community of students, staff, and researchers. Its challenge was to provide shared document access, secure file sharing, real-time co-editing, and built-in communication while meeting strict GDPR requirements.

To address this, the UPF deployed ONLYOFFICE and integrated it with Nextcloud on its own servers, giving the university full control over users’ personal data while extending its collaboration capabilities. With ONLYOFFICE, users quickly reported strong results during the first two weeks, especially valuing simultaneous co-editing, comments, and revision tools, with DOCX and XLSX becoming the most-used formats.
