Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft (sdw), the Foundation of German Business, needed a better way to edit office documents directly in Nextcloud and manage funding processes with mentors, supervisors, and foundation staff. The organization was looking for a collaborative, GDPR-compliant alternative to email-based document exchange and local file storage, and turned to ONLYOFFICE Docs integrated with Nextcloud.

ONLYOFFICE implemented a workflow that lets sdw users co-edit texts, spreadsheets, and presentations in real time while keeping files in Nextcloud and preserving data sovereignty. According to sdw, the setup has made collaboration with external mentors and trainers more efficient, reduced version chaos and email back-and-forth, and improved access to up-to-date funding records; the foundation is now expanding from the community version to ONLYOFFICE Docs Enterprise for better performance and stability.
