GWDG supports 4,000 monthly users with ONLYOFFICE

GWDG, a university computing center for Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and the Max Planck Society, faced a challenge with synchronization conflicts and "conflict files" when users collaboratively edited documents in their ownCloud platform. They identified the integration of ONLYOFFICE as a solution to enable real-time co-editing and prevent these issues.

By integrating the ONLYOFFICE platform with ownCloud, the vendor provided a common user interface for simultaneous document editing in a web browser. This solution prevented conflict files and allowed work to happen directly within ownCloud. The implementation benefits approximately 4,000 active monthly users, including universities and scientific institutions, and provides seamless file processing even with non-Microsoft Office formats.
